Hey everyone--
It's the last month, so we've got some wrapping up to do. We're getting excited for next year and are planning some great events already. This year, the Youth Group as a whole has gone under massive changes and we will continue to do so... especially with YOUR help. Our last Youth Group Board Meeting is on Monday, May 8-- that's the last night of MNP.We'll meet in the office at 6:45! See you then!
1) The annual CAR WASH is on Sunday, May 21, the last day of Sunday School. Always, this is a fun event and we look foward to running it along with the bake sale. To help out, simply send an e-mail to emanuel.youth.group@gmail.com and show up!
2) Help pack supplies for HURRICANE KATRINA VICTIMS! Help is still needed in the South and that's what we are going to do. On Sunday, May 7 between 10am - 4pm, we will help pack supplies at temple in conjuction with the UJA. The supplies will go directly to Baton Rouge by truck and will be destributed to those in need. Parents are needed, too! Email Jane at adubro4@msn.com or call 914-637-8801 to help!
3) Are you interested in working with a SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD on an ongoing basis? The Friendship Circle pairs you and a friend with a child to meet very other week for one hour of play. This is a social mentoring program and is a lot of fun! Call Rachel Butman at 914-645-9419 or Jane Dubro at 914-637-8801 for more information.
4) The next YOUTH GROUP BOARD MEETING will be on Monday, May 8 at 6:45. Everyone is invited to discuss your ideas for next year. Please join us to add your input.
5) The YOUTH GROUP BULLETIN BOARD is up and running. Located across from Rabbi Wolk's office, the board provides new information about our programs.
Again, please join us on Monday, May 8 at 6:45 for our final Youth Group Board Meeting. We will be planning next year! Come and help out!

Hi everyone.
This is your last chance to sign up for our HOOPS FOR SUDAN charity basketball tournament. We've got trophies, we've got banners, we've got sponsors, we've got the press.... ALL WE NEED IS YOU! Sign up forms are due on Monday, April 17 (next Monday,) so make your team, fill out the form and PLAY! Some of you have already signed up, but everyone should tell your friends.... you might play against them. The sign up form is here: www.darksofttech.com/basketball.pdf.
Remember that all players will get a t-shirt and water bottle (being provided by one of our sponsors, MODELS) REMEMBER TO SIGN UP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! FORMS ARE DUE APRIL 17! TELL YOUR FRIENDS AND GET THEM TO SIGN UP!
Also, the I want to remind you that our annual YOUTH GROUP SERVICE is coming up soon! We need you to sign up for a part! This is open to all 7th graders through 12th graders. To sign up, respond to this e-mail or send one to Emily Carton here.

Hey everyone--
April is a VERY busy month. Please not that there will be a Youth Group Board Meeting on Monday April 17 at 6:45. All are invited.
1) During this newsletter, I'm going to focus on HOOPS FOR SUDAN, our 3-on-3 basketball tournament that we will be hosting with Community Synagogue.
-We need people to set up, clean up, and sell food. Because we are the hosts, it is really important that we support and assist in this event. Please sign up for these jobs by replying to this e-mail.
-In addition to playing, spectators are welcome to watch! Please let your friends, family, grandparents and neighbors know.
-Don't play basketball?
-Well it's for charity. Whether you win or lose, it doesn't matter as long as you try. Give it a shot...... who knows?
-If you still don't want to play, please help us out. Tell your friends and let then know about the tournament. Tell them that they can get the form at www.darksofttech.com/basketball.pdf and that the tournament is open to all students, all schools, grades 8-12. Let them know that they can pick their own team of 3. Print some copies of the form and spread them around your school. Be sure to tell them that the winning team in all 3 divisions get a trophy and everyone gets a t-shirt for playing. As the host, we have a responsibility to make this event as big as possible.
-If you need even more convincing? The event will be covered by local media.
-Please remember that there are 3 divisions, MALE, FEMALE, and CO-ED (teams with both genders). Please remember that forms are due on Monday, April 17. Please get them in on time. Because we need to make the brackets, unfortunately, we will not be able to accept late responses. They will be returned.
2) We're going to TARZAN ON BROADWAY! It's a brand new show musical. We're going on Sunday April 30. We will leave the temple at 1:00 pm and return at about 6:30. The cost is $65 per person. 3) Coming soon is our annual YOUTH GROUP SERVICE. This service will be on Friday, April 28 at 7:30 pm. (Participants need to be there at 7:00.) The graduating High School Seniors will be honored and the service will be followed by an Ice Cream Oneg. Friends and family are invited. Proper attire please. Hi everyone.
We are very excited because we are launching our First ever 3-ON-3 HOOPS FOR SUDAN BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT with Community Synagogue of Rye. This event is open to all students in grades 8-12 at ANY SCHOOL. We have worked with Community for a long time to plan this event and now we need you to participate!
The form is available here. Please download, print, and fill it in and play with your team of 3 friends. Print it out a few extra times and give it to some more friends at your school and.... maybe... you might end up playing them IN THE CHAMPIONSHIPS!
All the information is on the flyer, but the event will begin at 1 PM at Blind Brook High School Gym on April 23!
We hope you can join is and help raise money for the Save Darfur Coalition!!!

Here's what's happening this month with the Youth Group.
Upcoming Events
1) There will be a YOUTH GROUP BOARD MEETING on Monday, March 27 at 6:45 before MNP. All Youth Group Board Members are requested to attend, but everyone is invited. At this meeting, we will be focusing on our ideas for a Dance and we need your input. Members of the Dance Committee are especially needed.
2) The PURIM CARNIVAL on Sunday, March 12 ! As always, this event is great fun. The Carnival, which is run by the Youth Group and 7th Grade will begin at 11:30 a.m. In addition to signing up for activities to run (which you will do at MNP on March 6th/Sunday school for 7th grade,) we need people to help SET UP THE NIGHT BEFORE, Saturday, March 11 , at temple from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Please send us an e-mail to Emanuel.Youth.Group@gmail.com to let us know that you can be there. There will probably be pizza too...
3) Youth Group will be holding a CHARITY BASKETBALL GAME against Community Synagogue in Rye on Sunday, April 23. Location and time to be announced soon. This event will be run by Matt Paul. Hi everyone--
I want to remind you of these two very important events:
1) TOMORROW, on Monday, February 27th, MNP will resume and there will be a YOUTH GROUP MEETING! All representitives are requested to attend and everyone is welcome to share your input. We are currently planning the Purim Carnival and Charity Basketball Game, as well as brainstorming ideas about the posibility of a dance. Please join us-- there will be PIZZA
2) Next Saturday, March 4th is our second and final MIDNIGHT RUN! Please bring in supplies! You can bring them to MNP and we will put them in the correct location for the run on Saturday!

Hello All -
This is the first real Youth Group Update. The Youth Group is very excited to have this new form of communication. We hope that now you will know and participate in more of our upcoming events. Please remember to continue to check your e-mail for more updates.
Upcoming Events
1) There will be a YOUTH GROUP BOARD MEETING on February 27 at 6:45 before MNP. All Youth Group Board Members are requested to attend, but everyone is invited. Please help us plan events and activities. We want to know what YOU want to do. Reminder: MNP begins again on Feb. 27.
2) We are doing a HABITAT FOR HUMANITY of Westchester volunteer project. We are scheduling to work at a site on Sunday, February 12. You must be 14 years or older to help build . Parent permission/waiver of liability forms must be filled out for those under 17 years of age ,and will be available in the temple school office. Homes are built for economically disadvantaged families. Information will be e-mailed to all youth group members or e-mail adubro4@msn.com or Emanuel.Youth.Group@gmail.com .
4) We will be holding the annual PURIM CARNIVAL on Sunday, March 12. As always, this event is great fun. Please save the date! The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. For the first time, this event will be run and organized by a commitee made up of Matthew Goldwater, Abagail Fried, Melissa Shapiro, and Emily Carton. We will need you to help, so if you are intrested, please send us an e-mail at Emanuel.Youth.Group@gmail.com and attend the next Board Meeting.

Hello everyone-
This is a quick Youth Group update. Normally there will be a variety of items listed here, but we have an event coming up very soon that we wanted to spread the word about.
On Sunday, January 22, Youth Group will be hosting an AFC CONGRENCE CHAMPIONSHIP PARTY! We plan to watch the game and there will be refreshments available. Join us in the Social Hall at 3:00 pm! Please RSVP as soon as possible to Jane Dubro at adubro4@msn.com! Bring your friends!
In addition, please remember to respond to the Youth Group Newsletter Test that has been sent within the past week if you have not already. Replies are requested by Monday, January 16. Please respond to that e-mail with your full name.
