 5/15/07 Update

Hi everyone

This Sunday is the big day. It's the SCHOOL'S OUT! CARNIVAL that we have been planning since January. We have had tons of people sign up, and hope that, even if you didn't sign up, you come to the temple at 10:30am. The carnival will go from 11:00--2:00 with inflatable rides, cotton candy and popcorn, a BBQ, and games.

Set-up will begin at 10:00 so if you are available, please come and help out! It should be a great day and we are all looking forward to it.

PLEASE NOTE: Saturday set-up has been cancelled and will take place Sunday morning instead...so if you were planning to come Saturday, don't. Those who had signed up on the sign-up board will be contacted by phone.

On a slightly unrelated note, there are currently some issues with the Youth Group website, so no new information can be added until the technical glitches get worked out. If you have any questions about the carnival, please send us an email at emanuel.youth.group@gmail.com

See you Sunday!
-Andrew, Emily, and Jane

 May 2007 Newsletter #8

Hello everyone--

This is the last Youth Group monthly email newsletter for the 2006-07 year (there will probably be one more Update after our Car Wash and Carnival, also to announce next year's Youth Group Board). We had our last Youth Group Board meeting on April 30 with record-breaking attendance, so thank you to everyone who attended a meeting at one point or another this year, and thanks for your help in making this a very successful year! (Let it be known, however, that we still have two major events coming in May!)

I want to note that EMILY, our Co-President, will be heading off to college next year. Her support of the Youth Group, as well as her positive thinking, great ideas, and representation on the Board of Trustees have all helped advance so many aspects of the Temple. Please join me in thanking her for all of her hard work! --Andrew

<==EVENTS & NOTES==>

1) The annual YOUTH GROUP CAR WASH will be going on Sunday, May 13 (one week earlier than in past years), from about 10am--12 noon. Please come out and help us continue this annual tradition!

2)
The SCHOOL'S OUT! CARNIVAL is ready for action Sunday, May 20 (the last day of Religious School) and the final preparations are being made for what is sure to be the biggest Youth Group event in our temple's history. We've got inflatable rides, cotton candy, popcorn, and a BBQ in the works. More info about the carnival is available at www.congregationemanuel.org/carnival . Booth sign-up sheet is available on a poster board in the lobby of the temple (by the "office doors") and we ask that EVERYONE sign up! We also need people to help SET UP on May 19 from 2-5pm, so please send an email to emanuel.youth.group@gmail.com if you are interested. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!

 March 2007 Newsletter #6

Hello everyone--

We are sending this newsletter out a little early because the Purim Carnival is so close! We also have the Midnight Run coming up very soon, so be sure to read all about it (Community Service #1)

It seems far now, but on Monday, March 26 @ 6:45pm in the Social Hall, we will have a Youth Group Meeting. By that time, we will have more details about the big carnival that we are planning for May!

<==EVENTS & NOTES==>

1) The PURIM CARNIVALwill take place on Sunday, March 4. We need as many people as possible to come out and run the booths and sales and raffles. We also need you to help set up, too! Set up will be taking place at a different time this year: Friday, March 2 @ 8:00pm. If you are interested in running a booth, sale, or setting up please send an email to emanuel.youth.group@gmail.com ASAP! We need all the manpower we can get!

2)
Last newsletter, we announced the CARNIVAL that we will be holding on May 20. We don't have a ton of new information so far, because we are still in the initial planning stages, but we have been in contact with ride rental companies and entertainers and of course, Marcie. By the next newsletter, we will have a lot of new information. If you missed the big announcement last month, here it is again:

We said that this was going to be our biggest year ever, right? Well we are on the right track. Just this week, we had a big, brand new event approved. In the December Newsletter, we mentioned that we had a big event coming in the January Newsletter....well here it is. For the first time in history, we will be running a full-fledged CARNIVA L! This is the real deal, we will have rides, games, Jumping Castle, music, and food! Marcie, as well as all the teachers who have been at the Temple for 20 years will be honored. The date of the Carnival will be Sunday, May 20th, the last day of Religious School.
Because the date of the Carnival will be the last day of Religious School, the annual CAR WASH will be moved to Sunday, May 13 , one week before previously scheduled.
